Installing PC TrueType
SUPPORT - Need help with installing your TrueType fonts under Windows?
All the font data is in one single file with a .ttf extension. Windows has native support for TrueType fonts. Your font files should be stored at ‘C:\WINDOWS\Fonts’ (the Fonts folder is accessible through the Control Panel).
Installing a new TrueType font:
Go to the ‘Fonts’ folder (Start/Settings/Control Panel/Fonts). Under ‘File’ you can find ‘Install new font’. Select the font you want to add, and click OK to finish the installation.
- In Windows 2000 or XP you will not only see TrueType fonts here, but also PostScript fonts.
- Tip: use CTRL to select more than one font.
- Tip in XP: switch to Classic View, makes your life a bit easier.
- Make sure you have the ‘Copy fonts to font folder’ box checked. This will take care that the fonts are copied to the right place on your hard disk.
- If you don’t see Start/Settings/Control Panel, you can find the Control Panel in Start/Settings/Configuration.
