IN PROGRESS - Finally I took the time and started creating my own corporate font called ‘Savant’. I always planned to have a corporate font for myself, but never found the time for it. I got fed up with that and descided to start working on it right away. This black version will be the starting point for the rest of the fonts within the upcoming Savant Package.
Naming the font ‘Savant’ made more then sense to me. Savant is French for ‘a learned person, esp. a distinguished scientist’. Since making fonts can be considered a science for itself, the name is right on the spot if you ask me. Besides that it’s a slightly facetious nod in the direction of ‘idiot savant’ which means ‘learned idiot’. The French have some great words. You have to give them credit for something.

The font is in an early state of development so a lot of things might change over the time. I wanted you guys to be the early birds and see the birth of this font. If you would like to become involved with the development of Savant and have bright ideas or interesting information or just feel the need to say something about it… feel free!
